Authority Brands' 2023 Convention brought all of our brands together in one place to learn, grow, and celebrate. As the year winds to a close, we are highlighting the Franchise Owners of the Year for 2022, who were honored on the last night of Convention.
Here's what Josh Cohen, Brand President of The Junkluggers had to say about Owner of the Year Joe Sandoval :
"This person is a remarkable entrepreneur. he's demonstrated a growth mindset, a ton of grit, and a relentless commitment to winning from the very first time that we met.
In the midst of the challenging covid-19 pandemic he boldly embarked on his franchising journey, and his motto has always been “go big or go home.” In his first full year he did $885,000. In his second year he doubled that to 1.6 million, and this year he's on his way to 2.5 million. This year he has also opened the first physical Remix Market on the west coast. Remix Market is our sister brand that rescues and sells secondhand Treasures back into the community.
And it didn't stop there. He believes in seizing opportunities, and he recently expanded into an additional territory with huge potential where his team is already setting records. He's a big advocate of building Junklugger's Commercial Business—both national accounts and his local commercial business, which is up a whopping 250% this year.
He has built a team to focus on business development, but also understands that he is the top salesperson. After working hard to foster relationships this year he partnered with a synergistic corporate account that will bring in an additional three quarters of a million dollars.
This owner understands his strengths and is the very first to say he isn't the one to come up with creative ideas, but he is a master at executing the plan and believes strongly in the value of following The Junklugger’s system. For him it's all about people. He's focused on building a strong team culture and creating growth opportunities for those who step up to the plate.
He's also created a group of franchisees just within his market to collaborate with. He loves speaking with both existing and potential franchisees to give back, and believes there's always something to learn from a conversation. He's also a valued member of our Franchise Advisory Council.
All of this has gained him the respect of the entire franchise community here at Junkluggers. It is my pleasure to award The Junkluggers Franchise of the Year to Joe Sandoval of Orange County California and East Valley Arizona."
